I shared your thoughts until I heard (I think it was Ken) Meier, loved it,
then found out he was mixing CDs afterwards. Very few can do it well though.
And from there, I see no difference between CD mixing and mp3s, especially
if you get dual outputs and run it through a mixer. About the only thing you
can't do at that point is scratching. I don't want to go this route
personally, but I've had my pretenses flatened of late by those who do, and
can show you how it's done.
