Yeah London is good, but too many ppl think that London is like the rest of the country. It's not. I live in York and all of the good night spots were closed down a few months ago due to the opening of bigger commercial clubs. I mean, if you like STEPS and stuff like that, yeah, the North East is cool but otherwise the place stinks like a tramps vest:) The only decent place to go to is Leeds but I don't a have a car and we rarely if ever see ppl like Claude Young or Derrick May play in our neck of the woods anyway:( A promoter mate of mine is working on something good for October tho if anyones interested... > > You'd never get a club like Motor > > being successful in the UK. > > No offence to Motor, I've had some really great > times there, but clubs > like The End and Blue Note (sadly RIP) are at least > as good as, if not > better. > > Otto Never been to The End or Blue Note. In fact, I've never been to any clubs in London. It's just too far away. Student life sucks... If I had some friends who were into the scene then I spose it'd be kewl... > PS straying slightly off-topic, but I could not let > this pass > unchallenged: > > > Black equality has been realised, it's just a few > > t*ssers that are behind the times. > > I hope you're sitting comfortably in your armchair, > thinking about this > idealised world, because reality is quite > different... > (do a websearch on Stephen Lawrence or Amadou Diallo > and then see if you > still stand by that statement) As I've said, yeah there are racist tw*ts out there... but I've got black relatives and I go out with 'em. I can't go into certain bars and clubs in my hometown of Leicester because they're black only. I've seen plenty of black only youth clubs and asian only youth clubs in the uk... isn't that racism? You wouldn't see a white-only youth club in Pakistan would you? I'm not dissing anyone because of their colour. My g/f is chinese so... It's just the way society is over here... I've seen black friends beaten and stabbed too... I don't live in an idealised world... I come from an area basically run by smack dealers. I've seen the nastiest things and I know everyone sees stuff like that these days... That's why I said... Lets not talk about black/white conflicts... It just makes it worse...
