for those of you in detroit, a few of ron's paintings are currently on
display at the robert maniscalco gallery (17329 mack, far east side of
detroit) through july 25.
i am also lucky enough to have a zakrin painting in my living room (wicked
birthday gift), it hangs above my tv, and it does a very fine job of
diverting my focus away from the tube.
his live sets (as ghost 200) are highly experimental - he samples toys to
get his sounds. he hasn't done a live set in a while, afaik.
ron is definitely 'one to watch' in the detroit art world.
and for other detroit visual artists in close relation to techno, 313's very
own meighen & micho. . .i would say tyree guyton is someone anyone looking
into current detroit art & politics should check out (may not be techno-y
but certainly detroit-y).
also, glad to hear mike's set went well for sat.'s sonic boom...anyone care
to post a review of other sets &/or the space itself?
