Playing electronic music "live" is a misnomer as all/most of the sounds Carl Craig uses are from samplers, drum machines, keyboards, and other sound modules... a more appropriate question would be if he used a sequencer or not.
I saw him play in NYC about a month ago with DJ Spooky and he didn't use a sequencer.... hence it was a live show :) -----Original Message----- From: Klaas-Jan Jongsma [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, August 28, 2000 10:18 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [313] paperclip people live It was indeed a nice DJ set but it wasn't really live. He had some equipment on stage but hitting the play button on your MPC and missing and talking into the mic. isn't really a live set, isn't it? But he his Dj set was brilliant, playing everything from throw and remake uno till Jazz Funk classics. The last hour of his set he just started spinng some other tracks. >just thought i give a short review of carl craig's live performance >at paradiso last night. > >IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WICKED!!!
