My vote would have to be Model 500 - Deep Space, with Kenny Larkin - Metaphor in a close second (sure I'm forgetting somthing really obvious while I'm at work), but the question really makes you realize how few *albums* there have been compared to the number of 12"s. Of course Detroit Escalator Company and Nightime World are favs too. Hard to really compare them all. I feel bad ranking them. It almost amounts to a matter of taste when comparing such high quality works of art.
