instead of spending my energy on counting or whatever, i just try and listen and feel it. (hope you all aren't gagging right now.) anyway, i don't think the counting rule is the end all rule for all. i listen to music purely for pleasure<-- (i'm rereading this wondering who doesn't...but anyway) . i started djing cause i have a short attention span (and i love techno.) it seems like literal counting in the beginning would make the whole listening experience for a beginner dj even more frustrating. props to the counters who stuck it out. -m I find the best way [thought often times hard to reach this state] is to just simply visualize the tracks mixing, and my fingers just work the pitch almost by themselves... often times [as a unexperienced DJ, I try to force the mix, which 99% of the time ends up in a crappy or slighty off mix, something that experienced DJs can spot the second it happends... not relying on a state of the art mixer/setup, or becoming reliant on it is another tip i've learned... especially when most of my mixing encorporates active EQing, being stuck on a RANE MP-24 with no channel EQ is a prime example just another $.02 cents ;] d e _ f r a g : s e v e n : o n e : t h r e e : t e k n o -------------------------------------------------- Totally Amazing Search Results - Just C4 Yourself! http://www.C4.com - Total Search Technology
