The reason I mentioned Chromeo is that someone on fb posted a youtube
clip featuring Darryl Hall talking and playing with them. I am not
really trashing Paxahau, since I usually make the trip to Detroit for
the festival anyhow, whether I'm playing or not. I am at a point with
this that all promoters are less in need of my support and more in
need of my money. I like Hall and Oates. Let's get that
straight...as a kid I had nearly all of their 7" singles.
What I am saying is that what the festival started out as and what
the line ups show up as now seem to be in opposition. And if C2 is
curating this year, then I guess that it is what it is.
Stevie would be much more apropos, but that costs more money than I'd
imagine any of us have (Would you pay $100 to Paxahau for the one day
that Stevie's playing?). Anyhow, I am just stirring up trouble.
Nobody can agree on who should/should not play the festival. Probably
not even the people involved with Paxahau. Labeling and Genrefication
tend to annoy me anyhow.
