Ummm.. NO. It's not a good idea to put spam in the header. Because I could put spam in my header and flood the 313 list with porn links and information about amazon.com and everyone would be happy with me?
I'm sort of from the days of the list where I had to grudgingly accept the occasional advertisement/playlist for web radio shows. ugh! Anyway, I think if you have an ACTUAL release for sale or you are performing somewhere, you have the right to share your achievements with us. The progress of the list members as musicmakers is very important to me to this degree. Because mp3.com in my opinion is a scam, and full of so much garbage, I get wary and angry over the incessant "check out my tracks on mp3.com posts!" The acidplanet contest, which I did not give a rat's ass about, I think has made me go off the deep end about this subject. It got to the point where people were like "yay, i turned on my gear today and didn't really make any tracks, but check out my cool new stuff for the redux contest." Ok, if something like that happens again, how about you post that you are entering the contest, and then if we have any interest in the contest, we'll probably check the site for new stuff eh? jesus... mr. revolver compiling links I think is a fantastic idea. If he or someone else has time, I saw a great idea where there was a webpage with a form where you could type in who you are, what kind of tracks you do, and links to the tracks. You could go back in and hit an update button whenever you changed your site or added new tracks, and it would say if and when a site was updated on the main page. This way all of you can leave me the hell alone. Not only is all this rubbish off topic, but I think it's been destroying this list for about 2 months. n8 > i don't have any trouble with someone posting links to their music, > playlists etc......i think this is what this list is all about, ie: not just > sterile intellectual musings on techno. I think its a good habit for posters > to state *spam* in the subject.
