Actually, there is a list of rules for the 313 list available through
www.hyperreal.org .
There is no actual way of consistently voting on a issue through an email
list of this size.
I know many people including myself pick out specific chunks of information
that seem relevant,
This email list is not an independent society which posts anything it feels
worth noting, more oft than
not you will notice alot of these types of comments:
'sorry for the OT post but...'
'sorry for the lack of 313 content but..'
This shows a definite regard for the fact that OT stuff is prohibited
material on 313 and isn't welcome
by everyone. It is not for us to decide what is cool, and what is not, for
that has already been decided
when you joined the list, and, hopefully read the rules.
To make an extreme point, most of us (if not all) were born into societies
in progress. Those societies had
already placed rules upon our existence from the day we were born. We all
grew up understanding or at least
being aware of what we were allowed to do, and what was wrong (and
punishable). This is where this list differs:
while we may grow up to become someone who can change what is right and
wrong, on this list you cannot become
the moderator and change the rules. I don't know if the moderator is still
lurking about, or if anyone will ever replace
the current moderator. But it has been my understanding that we still
follow the rules that were intially moderated. If you
care to further discuss the e-society and its developement I would gladly
discuss it. While I am not schooled in sociology I
would gladly pay attention to such a conversation, as I have watched several
lists evolve over many years.

Cheers again
todd
