You could take that one step further and ask about the differences between East Germany and West Germany which is something that interests me (Ethnic Slavic with family in Dresden). I hear that the (West) German clubbers dress up a lot.
The best German DJ I have seen and heard is DJ Hell - he is one of my favourites, diverse, funky. I really like his label a lot. Most of the German guys regularly come out to Australia - Thomas Schumacher is due Easter. It is not crap but I guess it has plateau-ed in recent times. I haven't been there though but I have seen many DJs.
