I'm a relatively newcomer to this new style. My frist encounter with it was
when I heard Tom Churchill playing some of it, and a wide variety of other
stuff when I was in London in November. It really hit the spot. These days I
do my best to make it to nortroute.net every week if my laptop cooperates
b/c my record buying budget is very slim right now. But I do have some
similar stuff floating around. But it occurs to me that the movement is not
really that new. There's been some similar stuff around for a while, but it
never really coalesced like it is now. Here are some of my older favorties:

Op Art III comp (lots of Kirk DeG... Paul Teabrooke and Sensurreal, etc).

Stasis

Steve Patton on Op Art (can't recall the name of the EP right now).

Gerd/Sensurreal have really been going at this consistently for quite a
while

The Jedi Knights have "Earth Drums from Outer Bongolia" and a few other less
inspired mid-tempo broken beat efforts IMO.

I think Otto actually pieced a lot of this together for me a few months back
when I asked what Sensurreal was up to these days, so maybe he can fill in
some more gaps in our understanding.

...and of course, there's a bunch of Detroit stuff, particularly 69's Desire
and Bug in the Bassbin that come to mind. Loads of people from all walks of
DJing have listed Desire as an all-time top-10 since I can remember.

The only newer stuff I have is by Bushwacka on the "Unreleased" 12" on THE
END. That's some pretty beautiful music to my ears. To tie in another
thread, the Stacey Pullen track on there is none too shaby either.

I have a feeling this thread won't kick back in until the A.M. when those
damn Brits wake up. :)
