I think that it was a very bad path to go down and could be a very
slippery slope. One day it's the "Ford Focus" main stage and maybe two
years from now the CEO of Ford will make them have his son, a funky
breaks and trance DJ, headline the second stage and then a few years
from now BT and NSync are playing a set together (if anybody didn't read
the Entertainment Weekly story yesterday, BT is producing the next NSync
single, which is two-step garage... That could very well be the
beginning of the end). I don't think that anybody is really pissed
about the Ford thing so much as they are concerned (and rightfully so)
that it could be taking things in the wrong direction.

It is good that there are watchdogs out there keeping things legit
because it would be all to easy to take corporate money and totally sell
out the festival.

As an aside, I don't see why not having another DEMF would be such a bad
thing. I know that statement could be considered sacrilege, but
everybody on this list bases their arguments on the assumption that DEMF
must continue every year. Perhaps it should've been one beautiful event
that people will remember fondly, instead of repeating on into
mediocrity. I don't actually have an opinion on this, since I don't
know enough about the whole situation, but I thought I'd throw it out
there.
