I talked to AO for a minute, and he seemed to be in a good mood. Whatever issues he had last year, it didn't seem to be on his mind Monday -- I think he played out of town on the weekend ... It was great fun playing Spot The Techno Legend. I didn't see him but Jeff Mills was wandering around most of Saturday. Autechre were reportedly roaming around Sunday. Eddie Fowlkes was bugging in the center of the main stage circle for A Number of Names. Richie Hawtin was in the m-nus tent quite a bit. And I saw a load of guys with VIP badges in full UR uniform, but I don't know what any of the UR guys look like. And the fact that Boo Williams was hanging out and doing the booty bump warms my heart. He has played out here in Iowa City a couple times, and he always hits a few gin & juices and finds a girl to dance with for the rest of the night. The only other Chicago music heads I saw there were the inimitable Maier brothers and they're full on techno freaks. You'd think more Chicago cats would be down, especially since the festival seemed to be suprisingly tilted towards house music...and DEMF was a better time than anything that's happened in Chicago for years! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
