I was pleased to have a nice chat with Simon Hartley (Wild Planet) on Monday during the Inner City performance and found out he actually lives in Leeds again after growing up in the UK, moving to Sweden for six years, and now moving back. I really thought Simon's live set at the 430 West party was outstanding and hope he'll play out more often.
During the RNG set I ran into Abdul Haqq, longtime UR and Submerge graphic artist who did the sublime ceiling painting at 2030 Grand River (in effect, the Sistine Chapel of techno). He says he is working hard on brand new stuff in the new Submerge building and has a special surprise planned for the bathroom :) My other spot-the-stars moment was at the KMS afterparty. Doc Martin, who I've known for nearly a decade, came in with a record box and told me, "Kevin said to show up but I don't know what to play..." So I told him, "Hey, it's just a party, so play party music!" :) phred --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
