I went to the Eyes Only party with Ultradyne last year and it looked every bit the illegal venue (ie run down arts centre, dusty floor and in a rundown area of town which gave it an excellent seedy vibe) but it was slap bang over the road from the local police station and that one went off ok. Whether it was licensed or not I dont know (Alex what was the score?) but it seemed as long as they were seen to be doing all the proper searches etc the police didn't have a problem.
