You are correct sir (apologies for my intital lack of research). Here's the
link to the MTV article where they play a clip of the PSB track for Dr. Dre.
Quite an interesting read:

pet_shop_boys.jhtml?headlines=true

Here's an excerpt for the web-impaired: "I hope they can stand the backlash.
That's funny as hell." - Dr. Dre

I also stumbled onto http://www.petshopboys.co.uk/ - that was tough ;).
There's an interview in which they discuss their new album, which brings
back Johnny Marr. Woohoo! Apparently there's a lot of discussion about the
use of guitars on this album, but that's not really anything new, so I don't
know what everyone's in a tizzy about. Also, they said there's some
influence of Madonna, Daft Punk and Miss Kittin' & The Hacker on the album.
Not that that's a breakthrough or anything, but I'm glad to see they're not
trying to make trance.

They're also set to embark on a tour (thus the stop in Detroit). There are
dates at both sites. If I feel up to braving Velvet Nation in DC the weekend
before DEMF, I'll give an advanced report.
