Personally speaking, and I know you probably won't agree, but I was given
some Beyerdynamic DT150's (the black ones) and they sound great, have
replaceable parts, and are very hard wearing. A bit expensive, though.

...and OF COURSE the studio standard, the AKG K240m's as well as the new
lower Ohm rated version that just came out recently. The most comfortable
headphones I've ever had. You could leave them on for 24hrs. and only
forget that they're there. Every pair of Sony's I've had, have broken
somehow.

My 2 cents...

I personally hate the silver sonys. I have owned the pair just under them..
the Sony V-600. I make music into the wee hours of the night with these and
they are comfy and no sound leaks out. They fit over your whole ear instead
of ON your ear like the silver sonys. I have had them for 6 years now and
Its nice to mix with them as well because they are a totally closed cup
design and when your cuing you dont have spillage from your monitor into the
headphones.

If my v-600s break.. Im goin to buy some new ones. They are about $100...

peace
