Why haven't *you* mentioned it then?! Stop bitchin' about it and do
something. Damn I'm sick of this topic raising its ugly ass head every few
months and hanging around longer than uninvited guests. "How come so-and-so
hasn't been mentioned?" If you haven't seen them mentioned and you're
interested in talking about it - bring up the f*cking topic then! If you
don't then shut the f*ck up. Yes, it's that easy. Crap or get off the pot.
We don't need the list-admin to do any more work then he already does, and
a mighty find job he does I might add. If you want to find out about new
releases get on the record labels' mailing lists - it's pretty simple.
As far as elitism and having records that few or no other people have -
that's the business. Like it or not. DJing is how many people make their
living. I expect prof. DJs to have records I can't possibly find - that's
why if I was a promoter I'd hire them (at least that's one very small
reason). Do they have the exclusive tunes? Yep - that's also why Final
Scratch is so hot right now. Having exclusive records guarantees that the
person will be in demand and it's also a way for small labels to get their
stuff heard and played. DJing is a business - it's money - it's survival in
a fierce game. Some lucky people get paid money to live on for doing what
they love to do while others, like most of us, do it as a past-time. That's
just the way it is. As far as elitism goes I prefer this definition when it
comes to DJs:

consciousness of or pride in belonging to a select or favored group.

Hell, all the people we discuss have WORKED for their "place" in the world
- many are still working their asses off each and every night to make you
move your body. Let 'em have the white labels - they've earned them.

I noticed the new Richie Hawtin Hardtrax Vol III wasn't mentioned or the
new
Monobox also
a
Detroit artist I cant think of his name Gary Martin? who released records
on KMS has an
album out which has not been mentioned.
Detroit electro labels like Twilight 76, Databse? don't get mentioned a
lot.
I'm sure if you compiled a monthly list 313 artist labels it would be a
good
size list.
