Just before everyone marches out of the saloon, could I possibly
steer the debate onto a less contentious area?
There's a lot of mentioning of band names that I don't know, I've
heard a track by Genesis P Orridge (pretty tasty IMO) that he did for
one of the Sabres Of Paradise compilations a few years back now
(Septic Cuts IIRC) but don't know who Psychic TV and Coil are.
Basically, who are all these people/bands and how do they fit into
the techno firmament?
Anyone care to enlighten me?
Thanks
Dan.

Take it outside the saloon cowboys, before I have Smitty the bartender call

Fred,
This is ridiculous.
First off: as for the METRO AREA track it's a license. You can ask MORGAN
GEIST DIRECT, if you wish to : [EMAIL PROTECTED] There's quite a
bootleg of Miura I believe that's been around for days but would you really
think Source would have let us go with releasing a previously unreleased
Metroi Area bootleg at the time they released their CD; That record (more
gdm 3) was quite everywhere and features proper credits. Just like the KIM
record does.
As for the Pyschic TV thing, it's also a license from SOME BIZARRE. You can
ask andy about it.
It's even them who provided the masters for the mastering session to the
Exchange then Metropolis.
Although I do appreciate your legacy as a part of Pyschic TV I would
appreciate you checked your facts before blurting them in the open.
Regards
Charles

Not to mention this little item from Environ....
Welcome to the third edition of the Environ Newsletter!
Feel free to forward this to friends/label/press.
A Word on Bootlegs
Apologies, but we'll start on a bad note so we don't have to end on one.
We've noticed bootlegs of Environ material surfacing, often a whole track of
ours with a simple a capella over it. DJ's used to call that "mixing" before
cheap opportunists decided to sell it on wax.
Let us be clear: bootlegging kills labels and artist careers. If you buy
bootlegs of our music, or distribute it, or stock it in your shop, you help
to kill us. Do not tell yourself otherwise. Our originals are regularly
repressed (see below) and even if they were rare it still would not justify
bootlegging (despite their rarity and the difficulty faced in tracking down
the owners, we license and pay for every Unclassics reissue we do!) If you
are bootlegging, we'll track you down and pursue legal action. If you are a
shop or distributor peddling Environ boots and we find out, we will cease to
do business with you. It is bad for everyone but the bootleggers.
Without your support, we will disappear. We will lose the opportunity to get
our hard work to your ears. If you care for Environ and its artists, and
want to keep hearing us, please do not support bootlegs. Thanks for reading.

Why would you actually want to get in touch with Metroplex ? Aren't you
guys bootleggers that never actually pay to license tracks ?
