great liner notes by the mr dan sicko (!)
besides the recently booted robotnick, klein & mbo, my mine (tho these seem
to be yet again slightly different versions than have been about..?), some
reallly hard to find stuff like the gaz nevada, material, mcartney, telex..
very thick high quality vinyl!
all the way classy...! nicest comp of this sort that i've seen...

Various Artists : A Secret History (EMI)
For New Religion's Dan Keeling and Alex Bond, this compilation of
early 80s electronic tunes has been a two year labour of love.
Undetered by countless bootlegs of Alexander Robotnick's "Problemes
D'Amour", My Mine's "Hypnotic Tango" and a load of other 'reissues',
they set about licensing some of the rarest, obscurest and downright
oddest pre-techno tracks the world has evert heard. From the classic
Italo of Klein & M.B.O. "Wonderful", new romantic electronica of
Visage's "Frequency 7" and NYC punk-funk of Material's "Secret Life",
it's clear that this compilation is the authoritative collection of the
once forgotten 80s underbelly. Also featuring comprehensive versions of
Liaisons Dangereuses, Telex and Gaz Nevada, it trumps them all with the
amazing "Temporary Secretary" from ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, which
starts off like the maddest Drexciya record you've ever heard! Totally
essential.
