i should add that this is also sort of a follow up on the 313equipment
thread of last week.
eventhough techno has the air of futuristic/technology based music, and
therefore the use of drum-machines, synthesisers, etc. is often presumed,
there is also a heavy use of samples by (some) producers; carl craig and
shake come first to mind. usually in a different way then most hiphop, or
discohouse; i.e. it uses sounds rather then loops of breaks.
