Re: 12" on Central Park, I think you are talking of "I Might Do
Something Wrong". There were a couple of 12's that came out with
different remixes. I didn't really know what to make of the records
since they were not really straight up house, or anything like house to
be quite honest...once I got over the serious cheese factor from the
vocals, I began to appreciate them. I even sang along. Ack. The 12's
also had some wacked-out dnb remixes too...Osulande contributed a really
nice mix for one of the records...

So... totally last minute I get a call from my friend Miche' about tag
teaming, opening for this band Tortured Soul. It turns out, Tortured
Soul is a trio from Brooklyn who play live deep house, with vocals.
Drums, Keyboard, Bass, and nothing sequenced.

I had never heard of them, but apparently they've been around in various
guises for years, and had some big 12" on Central Park Records. I'd
never heard of them but there's a lot of things I've never heard of ...

Holy Crap those guys were good! Great rock solid drumming, jazzy
keyboards, and deep bass, with nice songs. And they started their set
by mixing out of a record -- picking up the bassline and then jamming on
it for a while.

They said they'll probably be playing at Movement, so make sure if they
show up on the schedule to check them out!
