Yeah, but don't you accept that the "huge range of opinions" you mention is,
at the end of the day, an amalgamation of the opinions of a whole range of
individuals? And that some of these individuals might sometimes dare to
voice the specific opinions they have on the subject of techno? And that
they may in fact dare to do so on the 313 list, in the hope that they're not
going to be pounced on by someone taking their remarks completely the wrong
way?

You seem to imply that because one person's view of what techno is might
contradict someone else's completely, people shouldn't be allowed to say
what their views of techno actually *are*. I disagree with this entirely -
I'm extremely interested in what other people's views of techno music are
and I would like to see *more* people try to articulate it, rather than have
it turn into a taboo subject you can't mention on 313 without being leapt
on.
