Movement New York City: On the eve of the Detroit Movement Festival's 5th anniversary, the weekend before one million people transcend on Downtown Detroit for a showcase of the world's most important and influential musical artists, Detroit and New York's leading electronic djs/artists will perform together in one exclusive show at Volume. Underground New York meets Dark & Dirty Detroit in a hedonistic all night orgy. Music is the main course in this one off sensory overload. As a highlight for the very first time in New York City, two of the worlds most renowned recording artists, remixers and DJ's New York's Legendary Francois K (Studio 54, Body & Soul, Deep Space) & Detroit Techno Pioneer Derrick May (Rhythim is Rhythim) will perform under the one roof. Art will be provided by hot New York based artist Kimyon Huggins, combined with a visual smorgasbord from Brooklyn's own Honeygun Labs. The event will run until Dawn with performances commencing from 10pm. Combining the vision of Derrick May, Movements founding father, Richard Maher celebrated Australian event producer and Volume, New York's cutting edge venue, gallery /adult playground, Movement NYC will bring the soul of the sound back to the dance floor. Where the music, mood and crowd will combine in the tradition of all night dance events of days gone by. Transmat Events: Producer of Movement, Detroit's Electronic Music Festival and the production arm of the pioneering electronic label based in Detroit, Transmat Records. The Richard Maher Agency: formed in 1992, specializing in Artist Management and Event Production, currently representing the leading names in the electronic music, producing events for current and past clients including: Motorola, British American Tobacco, Absolute, Evian and Red Bull. Volume : Volume is the brainchild of New York nightlife impresario (Joe's Pub), magazine editor (List magazine), and designer/art director (Can Resources) Serge Becker, new media artist Jeff Gompertz (fakeshop.com), art director/designer Thomas Sandbichler and architect Derek Sanders (Can Resources). Volume is a brand new venue in North Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located in a 12, 500 sqft former paint factory, it is a grand old industrial space that can hold 900+ people.
