my last 12" on M>O>S(Kaoz) sold pretty ok, and i made 86 euro´s with it. Vinyl
is way too expensive to press, promote and distribute for smaller labels,
specially since they only get attention if you buy some of the heads with some
freebee copies. I mean, I´m only making 86 euro´s...no room for charity there...

I love vinyl, and expressed that view in the past quite explicitly but were
coming to a point where we just cant afford it anymore. I really hope there´s a
way to make money out of mp3´s, for now competing with soulseek seems like
madness, or people start buying cd-singles. CD´s are much cheaper too make and
transport, and would leave the artist with just that lil bit more money to
invest in his studio.

Its better money playing a record than making it, isn´t that a bit off btw? I
can play music at the bar down the road and make 16 euro´s more than with a
twelve. And they sure as hell dont book me for my releases. I think im gonna be
a dj! Book me to hear my tunes!

haha no my math sucks, you're right. but still, are mp3's that sellable?
more than vinyl? if you sell 1000 records there is considerably more
profit...oh well, whatever.
