Everyone talks of Depeche Mode, etc, etc, but I love finding obscure 80s things.
Me too - although they weren't as obscure back then. I recently ripped some old Dalek i to cdr - lovely! Especially the "Heartbeat" 12". I'd also recommend digging for nearly any remix done by Tony Mansfield (from Nu-Musik and a producer per se). He does an exemplary job on Yip Yip Coyote's "Pioneer Girl" - a track which is dismissable until he gets hold of it. The 12" mix of Savage Progress' "Heart Begins to Beat" is another worthy dig (and one I heard turn up in one of Theo Parrish's cdr mixes). I really wish I'd never dumped my 80s vinyl. Now it's a matter of remembering, then watching ebay, scouring bins or paying the ransom to someone on GEMM.
