Subject: RE: (313) stupid dumb idiot story

Ahh......Irdial (in Bisto advert style).
I know you're billing this as something of only personal interest but my
curiosity is piqued - what was it like? Mp3 anyone?
If only you hadn't broken it you could have played it for me!

And on a coincidence tip did you note (I bet you did you ferret of the net
and the record rack) the track on a comp in Piccadilly last week?

Various Artists : Dread Meets B-Boys Downtown - Social Classics Vol. 3
(Heavenly)

After inspiring punks with his reggae selection at The Roxy in London (see
"Dread Meets Punk Rockers Uptown"), Don Letts hooked up with The Clash,
becoming their official film biographer for the next few years. When The
Clash were booked to play Bonds in Manhattan in 1981, Letts went too,
eventually staying in New York until 1982, soaking up the atmosphere. This
compilation catches the feeling of the early 80s emerging hip hop scene,
including block party B-Boy funk classic (The Mohawks "The Champ", Babe Ruth
"The Mexican", Incredible Bongo Band "Apache"), electro and its inspirations
(Hashim "Al-Naafiysh", Kraftwerk "Metal On Metal", The Micronawts "Let's
Smurf Across The Surf"), early turntablist and rappin' skills (Grandmaster
Flash "Adventures...", Malcolm McLaren "Buffalo Gals", The Fearless Four
"Rockin' It", Fab Five Freddy "Down By Law", plus exclusive Grand Wizard
Theodore scratch mixes) and punk-funk crossover cuts (The Clash "Outside
Broadcast").

Been meaning to check this myself as although I know most of the tracks I
badly need to check those I don't.

Still got mail probs so if anyone answers this and doesn't get a response
from me that's why.
