But your not and for the record I don't think or feel it's Sheffield as the electronic scene here dates back to 1973 - way before techno, so I'd say Sheffield was more of an influence than The Second City. Many cities may also claim urban governance and industrial declines - it's a general rationalisation and one that isn't unique - Birmingham and Sheffield do has strong resemblance's to Detroit rather than say Berlin but is that enough? Any City that is dependent on one industry could also stake a claim on those grounds.
