I'm gonna be there with bells on. It may impede dancing, but I'm
committed to my metaphors.

Deep Space Media presents:
Deep Space NYC Vol. 1: Compiled and Mixed by François K.
Release Date: February 2005
Wave Music is proud to introduce its newest imprint label dedicated to
the abstract grooves and dub-inflected sounds that have come to the
surface through label owner and DJ/producer Francois K. at his new
weekly party Deep Space.
In April 2003, on the heels of a 6-year co-residency at Body & Soul in
NYC, François K. founded his new weekly event, Deep Space. Its goal
was simple, to bring people a weekly party to share the love of dub, a
vast, under-appreciated musical direction. Within months, the party
earned an incredible (Monday-night!) following, international praise
and, in essence, started a movement of appreciation for pushing
musical boundaries. With its anti-velvet rope door policy and
welcoming slogan "No Dress Code-Just an Open Mind," the party was
adopted as a Mecca for music heads who were seeking a pure music
experience. The party attracts an average of 400 international friends
weekly.
All of the planets aligned to make this party something truly special
and out of the ordinary. Deep Space producer, Erica Ruben is best
known for her decade of work as Executive Producer of Central Park
SummerStage. The award-winning hot new club Cielo became the stage for
François K.'s trailblazing and unique live DJ style that has developed
over the span of a 25-year illustrious musical
career.
