I interpreted that as if there were a party that replaced this year's
festival, the _party_ wouldn't be in Hart Plaza.
It's encouraging news they got the support of the city. Fingers crossed
it will work out.
Fences suck, imho, keep people out as much as they keep them in. Would
need more security to keep people from climbing over ... and then you
got the issue of managing the 'paying customers' going in and out ...
sounds like a nightmare for a Movement-sized crowd. Hope it doesn't come
to this.

I've been attending festivals since they began (somewhere around '79).
there has never been a festival at which admission had been charged.
now assume there's no psychological adjustment--that people like me
who are used to going to hart plaza for free will easily pay up.
there is still a significant architectural adjustment. hart plaza was
designed as an open space venue. how do you change it to prevent free
riders?
the technotourist post mentions that the festival will NOT be at hart
plaza this time.
