This is absolutely fair comment.  But how separable are these two things?
Maybe I'm a weak minded twit but much as I love pure 1 serving it up with a
bit of 2 can have  appeal.  Even classical music goers will be more / less
hooked on the charisma of particular performers.  And most people would
rather watch Miles Davis blow rather than listen to a recording (no cracks
about dynamic range please).
