The free booze thing doesn't tweek me. The having a chaperone part does. How can you get quality material such as interviews/comments/photos when an extra party is standing right there like some sort of translator.
Being my sarcastic self I probably would have interviewed one of the chaperones 'so wuz up with the shadow dance?' Perhaps the Pax. peeps have an explanation. I can understand not wanting press in the artist tent hounding people-artists are they to be schmoozed too. Plus, I remember from other events people would pull a magazine out of their ass just to get a badge that lead to a free hotdog-which was annoying to people who were there to work.
