Some new techno friends of mine who are mostly focused on the minimal sound
are bringing out James Patrick from Minneapolis this Friday. Info below.

Unfortunately, DJ Assault and Funk are playing the same night, but hopefully
James Patrick will be playing until 4 so I plan on hitting it up. its great
that our little scene here may be able to support more techno nights.

I'm listening to one of his sets on here: www.secrettechno.com/jamespatrick.
could use a bit more detroit flavor for my tastes but quality mixing.

Headlining Deep Mix @ Club Six Friday, September 8 is
Minneapolis-based techno figurehead, producer and DJ James Patrick,
who is at the forefront of the new minimal, micro-house and tech-house
movement in the US.

His passion for pushing dance music's often worn envelope has turned
MNPLS, MN. Into the new American headquarters for electronic dance
music's third wave.

Bay Area Beatdr_p's favorite JP set:

"JP spearheaded a DIY movement that's giving Minneapolis quite the ego
boost. No longer is it the sulking middle child next to Chicago and
Detroit. The attention is coming from the Twin Cities' version of
microhouse, the most unlikely sound--or perhaps the most cyclically
logical--to derive from over-the-top rave culture's entrails."
