he makes some interesting points about why dance music is dada in states. i would not have considered blaming european labels for the failure of house/techno to take hold in america.
if house/techno had not exploded in uk/europe when it did, and the artists had stayed in their home towns, would the situation be radically different today? or was it always destined to be marginalised? if the likes of virgin had made a concerted effort to market the music in america, would it have more of a following now? was this http://www.discogs.com/release/65112 released in the states?
