what year was the majestic theatre one? i didnt go to that one, but i

They played the Majestic Theatre on one of their tours--just after they
released the last double pack I think. I definitely had to wear
earplugs for that one.
aha, i was wondering what that spot was. that was a really dope
location for a party. nice dancefloor, awesome looking, etc.
Yeh, I used to love to go there. I saw some awesome shows there back
around '98--James Carter with a free jazz troupe, Gerri Allen with
Wallace Roney, Marcus Belgrave and Rodney Whitaker, etc. It was always
BYOB and they served great soul food during the shows. During the JC
show this drunk guy was sitting in the front row and talking so loud
everyone could hear. JC started imitating the guy's voice on his sax
and got people laughing. After a bit of back and forth with JC the guy
finally shut up -- it was great!
yeah, kenny came out swinging! theo and malik were dropping some
really deep soul stuff too, that was nice. omar-s rocked it out before
those guys came on, lots of tracky chicago business. a really nice
party to end the weekend.
I enjoyed everyone's work, especially Malik's. At one point Malik
appeared to be queuing a CDR or something and out came this incredible
acid track in the same vein as his MP #2 on FXFE. Not sure what that
one was but it really killed me. Did Patrice Scott go on first? --
missed him if he did. I've been really feeling his Sistrum records. He
did an hour guest spot on Lars Behrenroth's Deeper Shades of House XM
radio show a couple weeks back. It was absolutely mesmerizing. He
would have sounded great on one of those DEMF systems.
