Yeh, I used to love to go there. I saw some awesome shows there back
around '98--James Carter with a free jazz troupe, Gerri Allen with
Wallace Roney, Marcus Belgrave and Rodney Whitaker, etc. It was always
BYOB and they served great soul food during the shows. During the JC
show this drunk guy was sitting in the front row and talking so loud
everyone could hear. JC started imitating the guy's voice on his sax
and got people laughing. After a bit of back and forth with JC the guy
finally shut up -- it was great!

that sounds awesome. i bet that place really kills it for a show like that.

I enjoyed everyone's work, especially Malik's. At one point Malik
appeared to be queuing a CDR or something and out came this incredible
acid track in the same vein as his MP #2 on FXFE. Not sure what that
one was but it really killed me.

hmm, dont remember that one in particular, but he did drop his new
unirhythm record as the last tune at the festival. that sh*t is the
bomb.

Did Patrice Scott go on first? --
missed him if he did.

yeah me too, i got there as whyteout was finishing up and omar-s was
going on. i asked rick wilhite who patrice was but he said that he
left not long after his set was done. dont know if he ever showed back
up or not....

I've been really feeling his Sistrum records.

that new one is really nice. the new keith worthy record is also
ridiculously deep stuff, ditto the new mixmode. lovely weekend of
picking up new detroit house records!

He
did an hour guest spot on Lars Behrenroth's Deeper Shades of House XM
radio show a couple weeks back. It was absolutely mesmerizing. He
would have sounded great on one of those DEMF systems.

i wonder if anyone has that archived online anywhere? id love to hear it.
