regarding the remarks on stewart walker's live set in detroit, he may have
played a harder set due to the response he received on other parts of the
tour. he played first in the line-up here in chicago, and threw out a set
more related to his stabiles lp, with lots of subtlety, ambience, and dub
(a set which i unfortunately missed). the crowd then got lost a bit
during chessie's set, but started getting into kit clayton's set (which
was great in chicago also) just as it came to an end. s.w. agreed to play
another set, which turned out to be harder-edged, and it completely lit up
the crowd, which hadn't _really_ danced until that point. most everyone
was into it, yelling and the whole bit. not your typical 'experimental'
show ;) so i could see why he might try that set out again.
