Steve Reich just performed "Drumming" at Cooper Union to help hype his
"3 Tales" playing at BAM. Although i've read about his work, I have
never heard nor seen it played live. I was taken back by it, and would
recommend people to go check it out. Can you say human delays ?

Subject: (313) nonstandard gig announcement

Hi folks,

A little shameless self-promotion here, but some of you might be interested.

This Saturday, November 16, I'll be playing percussion with a
contemporary music ensemble called Alarm Will Sound at the Walker Art
Center in Minneapolis. The gig is part of a 3-day event called Festival
Dancing in Your Head, and will also feature the Kronos Quartet.

Among other things, we're playing the complete version of Steve Reich's
"Drumming" and Phillip Glass' "Music in Similar Motion".

The 313 connection? For intermission and setup change music, I'll be
doing tech-house remixes of the pieces from the concert via a laptop
running Ableton Live.
