If you can afford it, host it yourself. Get a DSL connection with a static IP, a Pentium 233MMX with all UWSCSI drives and buckeloads of RAM (my current socket7 motherboard supports 768MB of ram), and a copy of Win2k server or Red Hat Linux Server.
Really, that's probably all you'll need. Go dual PPro or dual P2's if you think you'll get hit often. -----Original Message----- From: James Bucknell [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, November 14, 2002 10:51 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: (313) Listmember's sites while on the subject...i'm looking for a new host for my site. any suggestions for a cheap host that allows downloads of mp3s? james > From: diana potts <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Wed, 13 Nov 2002 13:23:13 -0800 (PST) > To: [email protected] > Subject: (313) Listmember's sites > > > Most of the ppl on here are "technies" (me not > included) so there's, IMHO, some really good > programming and creative work going on amongst > members.(I do check out ppl's sites in their sig) > > Anyhow, if you've skipped over this listmember's > site, might I suggest you check it out during an > 'attention span shortage' moment at work.
