I'm a little late with this debate, but I have a Xone 32 and its great, I have it for 4 years now, and it still works perfectly, the gains on the back of it really don’t cause any problems, they're easy to use once you know where they are. I don’t think it suitable for quick chopping between tracks as the cross fader response is a little slow. It's a solid mixer and have had no complaints with it.
The only disadvantage of a cheap mixer is that it doesn’t last as long as the more expensive mixers, the more expensive mixers are generally better built, the same applies for decks as well. Inexpensive is realitive I guess, because $500 is a lot of money for me. That is why I use Stanton turntables as well...at least they aren't belt drive.
