DJ Rap sampled SOL too and I know he wasn't cool on that. You could play that track that samples SOL that Herbie Hancock did too. I actually like that myself.

Ditto, it never leaves the bag, the sleeve has seen better days, but
I'm not a stickler over things like that.

I know most (myself included) are not to keen on the various
interpretations of this classic, but Mr. Beedle got it right on this
one.

There is a Strings of life remix by The 10th Planet (Ashley Beedle) which is a reinterpretation based on a live performance of Rhythim is Rhythim with Derrick May & featuring Carl Craig recorded 09.14.89 at the Town & Country Club London. It was released on Network Records 1995 (NWKT 88) I still drop this track regularly in my sets because I still haven't heard anybody
else play it.

Fine citizens,

I am doing the Test Pattern thing I did with Ken Ishii in November,
where I pick an artist to play for an hour. Instead of picking an
artist whose records comprise significant sections of my collection, I decided to pick one that's not so easy for me, but maybe easy for you
guys: Derrick May!

Is there anything he's done that's really off the beaten path that's
worth the effort to seek out? Anything recent beyond the Tekkon
Kinkreet soundtrack?
