For more recent stuff I like the original of Alaska Melting which Arturo
recommended the remix of: http://www.discogs.com/release/1074140

My favourite all time Monolake track was one side of Fragile / Static from
1999: http://www.discogs.com/release/864079
A couple of points on this one: yes I know music is timeless and a good track
is a good track etc. but 10 years ago there were less records that sounded like
one (and whether or not this makes me weak in the head I therefore found it
more exciting). Yes it was from the Basic Channel stable but the side of the
record I'm talking about had a great slowed down, deep, icy feel to it. At the
time I wasn't sure how intentional that was; by which I mean I enjoyed it most
at 33rpm but I wasn't sure if it was meant to be played that way - at 45 it
sounded more like previous stuff plus the other side I was fairly sure was 45.
However in looking the Discogs number up I notice it's listed there at 33 one
side / 45 the other. And he subsequently did more stuff that sounded the same
(with no doubts on the speed) so I guess this was intentional by him and no
discovery by me! Either way it was a biggy for me at the time.
