Some Audit Trails also need to track searches performed, who logged onto which computer (and from where), and when, and when they logged off.
The idea of searches is that someone may be looking for a person but end up not finding the record, but the search history shows they were trying. With some systems the audit trail ends up being bigger than the original data.
