In case I am not the last one to know... When an internal SVG error message pops up on the screen, the Trace button is disabled in the dialog, but Trace is still available to display the offending line of code. You can use the option-command-click and select from the pop-up menu while the error dialog is being displayed to begin tracing the process code ... in 16R5 at least.
