If this is legacy code, you might want to insure that your printing is wrapped with OPEN PRINTING JOB and CLOSE PRINTING JOB. I recently saw printing problems that cropped up even though no code had been updated, but something changed on the client side… and solved it by bookending the printing with OPEN and CLOSE.

Hi all, I’ve got a real head-scratcher! Any thoughts greatly accepted. I’ve got three 4D customers. At the beginning of 2021, all three were running 4D v16.4 C/S. Over the past couple of months, I’ve upgraded all to 4D v17.4. The first two upgrades went very smoothly. Last evening, I moved the last one to 4D v17.4. Everything APPEARED to be OK. However, this morning, when anyone tried to print anything from 4D, they received various “printing” errors. I restored them back to 4D v16.4 and the printing errors disappeared. This customer is 2,000 miles away from me and I presently only have remote-access to their server. They have two (2) offices connected via a VPN. The Server and 4-users are in one office and 3-users are in the other office. The printers themselves are different makes and models and all the users in both offices had similar printing issues. As a test, I launched the 4D v17.4 App on the server and opened the database as a local-database (single-user). I then tried to print the same documents they had been having issues with and everything printed correctly with no errors. HMMMM!
