Hi Dave :)

yes and no.

Until now I never used Lenny backports and (security) upgrades but I
have done some reinstallings and installings without any Lenny
repositories, that might cause the troubles with Envy and USB-MIDI.

I didn't go on with the ATI. I get an advice from a Suse multimedia
moderator (a bragging penpal I often have troubles with), who alleged to
build his kernels himself and I especially told him that I've no AGP
port, and he told me he is using 5,- EUR NVidia cards that are PCI, but
he was wrong, the cards are AGP and I bet he never build a kernel
himself, he might do some patches, otherwise he should know what AGP is.
I stopped my work and searched for this card as an AGP version. Back to
me. I need a missing kernel module but until now I didn't have the nerve
to check out how I can install it.

For me the time has come, I will give a dam about graphics and about one
Linux for all needs. I think I will install a stable 64 Studio 2.1 too
and will make some music, instead of doing handicrafts for my Linux.

The screen resolution is fine. I can't change the vertical refresh rate
and 3D won't work because of a missing module.

There might be a way to get this module and to get 3D working but the
problem with the settings for the vertical refresh rate, has been the
same for my old hardware with a NVidia AGP card. With my old hardware
everything else has been fine and for Suse it also has been possible to
change the vertical refresh rate, but when using more than one kernel,
the way how to implement the 3D driver for several kenerls won't work
for all kernels.

Thank you, anyhow I'll take a look at the themes.

Cheers,
Ralf
