Thank you Quentin :) the actual state of affairs is, that I have decided to buy a gfx card, among other things, because I'm thinking of the shared memory. I also have decided to buy a NVidia chip set card from any vendor (I have to read Gustin's mails, I've seen he wrote something about it). I think it will be better to buy a passive card, because I have a large fan for the power supply and an AMD dualcore, from the new generation, 45W and my computer is absolute silent. I think a little bit more heat by a passive card will increase a little bit the speed of the fans I have, but the fan of an active card might be noisy. I'll read Gustin's mails now and search later for some NVidia cards. Cheers, Ralf
