The pics I saw online look like game port midi to me.  Since I don't
have one I can't be of more help.  Perhaps the manufacturer has the info
you require?

I am not sure I understand, are you recording the audio output from
Totem into Rosegarden?  If this is for a test case I can sort of
understand what you are doing.  In the real world I would use mplayer to
strip the audio from a video file and then directly import that audio
file (or convert it to mp3/ogg/flac/wav first) into Ardour (or
Rosegarden if that is your thing).
