Hi Christian :)

All LADSPA effects can be used by JACK Rack.
LADSPA effects are included by default to a 64 Studio install.
I don't know if Orca can handle JACK Rack and QJackCtl.
Connections for Jack might be done by a terminal, definitive it's
possible to store and restore connections by jack_snapshot.
Rakarrak is a very nice multi effect, but not available for 64 Studio
2.1 and I don't guess it's able to compile it, because of too many
dependency conflicts.

You can download the source of jack_snapshot by running

wget http://tapas.affenbande.org/jack_snapshot/jack_snapshot-0.0.3.tgz

Are you fine with compiling jack_snapshot yourself?
If not asked again, but try to do it yourself.

Running

jack-rack -n

will make the name alias for Jack without the PID, that meanas the name
will not change if you close JACK Rack and run it again.

You get the alias names of running clients by Jack if you run

jack_lsp -A

To store Jack audio connections to a text file run

jack_snapshot store filename.txt

This will write a text file, e.g.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Desktop$ cat example.txt
jack_rack:gverb_1-1_o1
 system:playback_1
jack_rack:gverb_1-2_o1
 system:playback_2
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Desktop$

You can write such a file by any editor.
Restore Jack audio connections by running

jack_snapshot restore filename.txt

If you can use JACK rack, find out yourself if the reverbs are enough
"studio" for you.
If Orca isn't fine with Jack and JACK Rack, this will be worse and needs
a report to the Jack developers and to the coders of JACK Rack.

Sorry, I can't test if Orca is fine with JACK Rack or Rakarrak, because
eSpeak won't work while jackd is running.

Cheers,
Ralf
