Hi, I managed to convert Linux Mint 5 LTS into 64 Studio 3.0 beta without losing the mint flavour.
The result is surprisingly stable and I have not had problems with dependencies. Or maybe this is not so surprising after all, because Mint 5 is 99%:ntly Hardy. For those who want to try, here is a HowTo: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&p=151717#p151717 I think it applies quite well to upgrading from Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy too.
